Flooring

Flooring comes in two thicknesses: 1-inch and 2-inch.

There are two versions of the 2-inch: standard and ICM (which incorporates cable channels in the floor). ALL flooring sheets consist of two panels and have the same external dimensions of 4 ft. wide x 3 ft. - 6 in. long The panels, or half-sheets, are used as needed in layouts when installing the flooring inside a tent.

Flooring

Platform constructed first; tent assembled on top of Flooring

Advantages:

  • Prevents damage to fabric floors by placing a barrier between the fabric and the ground

  • Tents are raised off the ground and out of the mud; tents stay cleaner with less cleaning and maintenance both during and after exercise

  • Unlike fabric floors, UTS flooring will not rot or mildew from prolonged exposure to moisture or mud and can easily be cleaned with water if desired

  • Greater flexibility in complexing multiple tents together

  • In wet or muddy conditions, setting up a tent on a firm platform of UTS flooring is easier and faster than trying to set it up directly on soft ground

  • Multiple tents can be easily complexed together by running wires and cables seamlessly through the in-floor cable channels (on ICM flooring) from one tent to another

Basic Set-UP

Flooring sheets are ideally laid down before shelter is erected (i.e. underneath tent), but can be put inside the tent (i.e. on top of the fabric floor) if necessary. Flooring starts in one corner and ends in opposite corner.

Floor is laid row-by-row, each sheet slides onto connector channels on edge of previous sheet.
